Our story
Morrina started with a feeling most expats know too well. Here's why we built it, and how we hope it helps.

We're two expats ourselves. Most days it's fine — new city, new life, the good kind of hard. But some days it isn't. Some days you just want to talk to someone who's from where you're from, who speaks your language without translating it first, who already understands the things you'd otherwise have to explain from scratch.
Finding that person, right when you need them, is hard. So we built a place where it doesn't have to be a coincidence.
Morrina exists so people carrying that particular kind of homesick can find each other — without having to explain themselves first, without a profile to match, without small talk. Just one honest note, out into the water, for whoever needs it.
Here's what surprised us: writing to a stranger helps almost as much as reading from one. Giving a little of what you already know — because you've lived it too — feels just as good as receiving a kind word did when you needed it most.
Every evening, one simple question. You answer it honestly, in your own words, and send it out. The next morning, someone else's answer washes up for you — a stranger going through something close enough to yours that it doesn't need explaining.
Nothing to build, no conversation to keep up, no name unless you choose to leave one. Just a moment of being understood, once a day.
Being an expat is hard more often than people admit — and it's hard for almost everyone who's done it, not just you. A few months from now, maybe a few years, you'll look back at this exact stretch and just smile. Until then, we hope Morrina makes today a little lighter.
